Choosing a name for your cat.

Not a difficult task you may think, but it does require thought.
I have spoken to people that have made mistakes whilst naming their cat on both ends of the scale.
From people who have called their pet fluffy, and when they go into the garden to call fluffy find 6 other cats from the area also named fluffy turn up. To folk that thought it fun to call their cat marmaduke the 3rd and find the cat ignores their grand tittle and go instead to anyone who shouts puss!
Cats as well as dogs do not respond well to long names containing many or complex sounds. Fluf-fy or tidd-les are prime examples of short names that your pet will respond to well. Marmaduke the 3rd will leave them unsurprisingly cold.lol. Be careful not to giv your pet too long or commom a name. Also, when you first have your pet, try out a series of sounds and words that could possibly make up their name to see what they respond to. I have a neighbour who has a cat, that she unimaginativly calls 'cat'. She goes out and scretches 'cat' in a very high pitched voice and her puss comes running every time without fail. Yet I have a cat that runs and hides if anyone scretches anything in such high pitched tones whatever they are saying! Just like people, cats are individuals with various likes and dislikes. Try from the out set to name your cat with this in mind and you will have more chance of you beloved pet coming home when they are called at a later date if their name is a good match and pleasing for their ears!
