Buttering Paws-Does it work?

You may have heared the old wives tale that if you move home, that you are meany to put butter on your cats paws to help kity somehow not get lost or stray.
I first heared this and thought it quite silly. However, the lady that told me this was married to a soldier, and moved with him approximatly every 4 months. They had two cats and they never ran off or got lost. Well don't ask me if there is any scientific explanation for this as I really couldn't say. I can only tell you that I have practised this old wives tale myself and have never lost a moggy yet.lol
And even even it dosen;t really work...where's the harm? Your cat sure will enjoy licking butter from its paws and that won't do your feline any harm at all!
